چکیده

Purpose This study aims to provide an insight into the relationship between design parameters and thermal performance of plate fin heat sinks (PFHSs) incorporating longitudinal vortex generators (VGs) inside a PFHS channel. Design/methodology/approach A computational fluid dynamics model delta winglet pair VG mounted geometry is detailed, validated by comparison with experimental data. The used perform virtual experiments sink bottom vertical VGs. Data from this regress response surface enabling influence each assessed variables on flow resistance be determined. Findings results show that hydraulic performances are, respectively, 1.12 1.17 times higher than baseline PFHS. Further, variation VG, relative winglet’s arrangement (common up common down), trailing edge gap length Reynolds number were also evaluated reported. Originality/value For first time, characteristics VGs are against different polynomial regression developed. developed computed can high PFHSs

Fluid Flow and Heat Transfer of Nanofluids over a Flat Plate with Conjugate Heat Transfer

The falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. This phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. In this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...

Heat transfer in MHD nanofluid flow over a cone and plate in the presence of heat source/sink

In this study, we presented a mathematical model for analyzing the heat source/sink effect on magnetohydrodynamic two-dimensional ferrofluid flow past a cone and a vertical plate in the presence of volume fraction of ferrous nanoparticles. The governing partial differential equations are transformed as ordinary differential equations making use of similarity solutions and solved numerically wit...

Numerical Optimization of Pin-Fin Heat Sink with Forced Cooling

This study presents the numerical simulation of optimum pin-fin heat sink with air impinging cooling by using Taguchi method. 9 L ( 4 3 ) orthogonal array is selected as a plan for the four design-parameters with three levels. The governing equations are discretized by using the control-volume-based-finite-difference method with a power-law scheme on the non-uniform staggered grid. We solved th...

Heat Transfer Analysis of Heating Plate with Multiple Heat Sources

Preliminary note 3D numerical study of transient heat transfer phenomenon on a solid plate with complex heat sources has been carried out. In order to validate the chosen numerical model, a set of thermographic measurements have been performed on a heating plate sample. The infrared camera provided a number of thermograms showing the development of transient temperature fields on the plate surf...
